This is the color of visionaries, poets, wandering madmen, artists and everyone who does not fit into a conservative framework! Ultraviolet, a shade chosen by the Pantone Color Institute as the main one for the coming year, captivates with its energy with a hint of mystery.

Here is what Pantone experts themselves write about the new favorite: “Multifaceted and contemplative, Ultraviolet personifies the mysteries of space, the intrigue that awaits you ahead, and the discoveries that are yet to come. The huge and boundless night sky symbolizes endless possibilities and inspires you to seek more in the worlds lying outside of ours. "

In a word, not color, but revived poetry! However, even if versification and mysticism are not among your interests, Ultraviolet light can still take its rightful place in your wardrobe.

Saturated shades of purple are definitely the dominant colors. This means that they work best in leading positions in which other colors are only complements that allow the depths of the purple itself to reveal.
In addition, purple refers to the cold spectrum and, accordingly, it most harmoniously looks with cold appearance color types.

Ultraviolet is ideal for white-skinned brunettes and will be a great choice for those whose hair shade goes into copper. Of course, this does not mean that all the rest can only be sad to watch from afar - firstly, there are exceptions to all the rules, and you can turn out to be the same dark-skinned blonde on whom Ultraviolet looks magical, and secondly, you can always adjust the tone, choosing a shade of purple that suits you best.

Also keep in mind that Ultraviolet (like other juicy purple versions) will require a fairly active make-up, without which you may appear paler than it really is.

By the way, in terms of properties and compatibility, ultraviolet is very close to fuchsia, which we wrote about not so long ago, so be sure to check out our Fuchsia Guide - you can draw from it several interesting combinations that will work perfectly for UV.
