Elegant and feminine skirts and dresses, accentuated fashion details - secret tucks, inserts, as well as a narrow silhouette and the obligatory suit from Coco Chanel ...

In the Vintage section of the September Burda issue, fashion designers interpreted the extravagant costume of 1958 (photo above) in the clean chic style, which caused a real sensation in the middle of the last century.

In the magazine, it is repeated in the form of a balloon jacket and a narrow skirt in a saturated fashionable color and supplemented with tone-on-tone accessories: handbag, nail polish (photo on the right).
“A kit with typical spherical shapes has become a favorite in Italy,” fashion magazines wrote in 1958. The ensemble (at the top photo) was worn with pearl beads, a small hat and long gloves.
Today he will find a more diverse application. An extended jacket can be worn with a top and leather leggings for a rock concert, and with a skirt and a classic white blouse - in the office.
However, do not limit your imagination!

The history of fashion with Burda

"The only law that obeys fashion is to keep pace with the times.
The spirit of the era determines the face of fashion, and fashion determines the face of the era ...
I support any style, even hypertrophied, if it helps a woman to become more beautiful.
Everything is allowed in fashion, which is why the art of being irresistible depends on how right the choice is made. "

Tutu skirts and twinsets, capri pants and ballet shoes, cage vichy and polka dots - 50s fashion is focused on femininity and elegance. Pleated and multilinked, bell, sun and half-sun, with step slot or oncoming folds: skirts and dresses are unconditional hits of the middle of the last century, emphasized elegant and impeccable. They are combined with popular "blouses" and jackets, without fail with emphasized fashionable details, such as secret tucks, spectacular assemblies, draperies and inserts from different materials.
The romantic image is achieved thanks to fabrics: with bright colors, polka dots or with ornaments - the colors of red geranium, blue sapphire, pink caramel.
A simple, straight-cut suit made by Mademoiselle Coco Chanel in 1954 makes a splash - and by the way, it is still in demand. Christian Dior promotes a loose and narrow straight silhouette. In the late 1950s, the adjoining pencil skirt and the so-called Deux pièces finally won the ensemble of dresses and jackets.
We present you some models from the old, 50s, Burda magazines:

Left photo: A casual dress of a very fashionable narrow silhouette in the 50s. Actual detail: oncoming folds along the bottom edge of the skirt.
Photo in the middle: Costume made of fine wool "pepita". Small lapels have something in common with double flaps. Long, narrow sleeves adorn narrow lapels.
Right photo: Elegant dress for dinner with a beautifully tailored narrow skirt. The ideal fabric for it is plain or colored silk.

Photo on the left: Very fashionable casual dress in Empire style. Trims, collar and buttons can be matched to the color of accessories and hats.
Photo in the middle: Deux-piéces - dress with a jacket of a cut for large women. The neck and sides are decorated with inserts with a number of finishing lines. If you sew an ensemble of colored fabric, then for the inserts you need to take the finishing fabric.
Right photo: A narrow and short dress in a contemporary Empire style. Edges and folds are underlined with stitching. The dress fastens with a zipper on the back.

Left photo: In this youth woolen suit with a bolero jacket, first of all, the wide beveled inserts laid on the shelves attract attention. A black knitted blouse with raglan sleeves is worn under the jacket.
Photo in the middle: A very elegant and at the same time simple dress with drapery on the bodice for dinner.A narrow neckline frames a narrow strip of fur
Right photo: Wedding dress of the year. Happy young bride in a charming dress - this image will be preserved in a family photo album for life. The wedding dress delightfully combined laces and heavy satin silk, flowing in large folds. A small train is held by bows. A corsage decorated with lace is worn under the jacket.

Left photo: Lace and silk are very well combined in this dress. The skirt under the lace strap at the waist is slightly fitted.
Photo in the middle: Elegant duchesse cocktail dress. Soft drapery on a wide neckline forms tiny sleeves that barely cover the shoulders. A fluffy and wide skirt emphasizes the slim waist.
Photo on the right: For registration in the registry office this charming ensemble with cream lace over matte pink taffeta is perfect. The dress is complemented by a narrow jacket at the waist, and therefore it will be possible to wear it not only for the wedding.

Left photo: Charming organza dress for the lady in red. The basis is the silhouette of the “princess”, on which the original draperies with pleats look fantastic.
Photo in the middle: A narrow sheath dress for dinner. The back of the dress is one-piece, but the bodice is decorated with a “fake” bolero with a tie that gives the model a special charm and elegance.
Right photo: Green is the perfect color for winter. Dress for dance evenings and cocktails with a wide fluttering skirt made of juicy green silk fi-taffeta. The festive character of the dress is emphasized by flat rectangles with rhinestones over the skirted wedges of the skirt.

Photo on the left: A woolen dress in the color of dark gray stone has all the advantages of a practical, comfortable and at the same time elegant everyday model. The shoulder seams are pushed forward, emphasizing the exquisite cut of the sleeve.
Photo in the middle: Simplicity is the main advantage of a chic khaki dress with a skirt with oncoming folds. An elegant addition - two decorative buttons: one on the neck, the other on the curly corsage belt.
Right photo: Warm straight-cut coat with a graceful finish. Spectacular details are clasped on the bodice and back of the stitch. The collar can be trimmed with fur with a pile of any length if desired.

Left photo: Classic double breasted redingote with a large shawl collar and horizontal welt pockets trimmed with strips of fur.
Photo in the middle: The “Princess” silhouette coat is back in fashion this season! The most elegant option is a cloth + fur collar.
Right photo: A coat of spectacular woolen fabric with a panama weave looks especially interesting from the back. Under the detachable back, underlined by a long stalemate in the form of an arc that repeats a section of the back, there are ironed folds.

Left photo: Coat of the princess silhouette, beloved last season. A large collar is perfectly combined with his narrow waist.
Photo in the middle: Fashionable men's coat for the city. Shorter - with wide lapels and welt pockets with flaps. Longer trench coat - with raglan sleeves and a separate belt with belt loops.
Photo on the right: While walking in nature and playing sports, you cannot do without comfortable duffle-coat jackets with a hood. Here are both female and male options.
