We are so lacking in heat and sun, and summer always passes quickly. One of the easiest ways to preserve the spirit of summer and remembering it is to make a sachet with fragrant summer herbs.

A sachet is a small bag or pillow made of thick linen or cotton, which is filled with pre-shredded fragrant herbs.

Sachets are used as flavorings in cabinets and chests of drawers, for bedding and clothes. And also for protective purposes, for example, from moths.

Making small sachets with your own hands is very simple and quick.

The command of the heart: do-it-yourself lavender sachet

You will need:

✽ Small shreds of dense cotton, linen or denim;

✽ Finely chopped aromatic herbs, such as lavender, lemon balm;

✽ Scissors;

✽ Herb chopper

Step 1

Use a pair of kitchen scissors to chop the lavender;

Step 2

Cut out the blanks of future sachets of square or rectangular shape of small sizes.

If the fabric is not dense enough, cut out the double details of the sachet (they should be sewn as one piece).

Step 3

On the sewing machine, set the stitch length to 2.00. Short stitches will prevent the shredding grass from spilling out of the sachet.

Step 4

Fold the blanks with the front side inwards and sew the blanks-bags, leaving one side open.

Step 5

Turn the workpiece sachets on the front side.

Step 6

Fill sachets with lavender.

The density of the pads should be moderate.

Step 7

Sew open area first by hand.

And then sew an extra line on the sewing machine.

Double stitching will prevent rash of shredded grass.

By desire, you can lay a line on the other side of the sachet.

Done!
