Burlap curtain for small window
Such curtains are more decorative than functional. But if you additionally sew traditional curtains to them, you will get a great kit.
You will need:
- Cornice and rings with clips for curtains;
- Flax with Lurex;
- Decorative ribbon for bows;
- Scissors
Step 1
Wash a piece of flax. Dry and iron well with a slightly damp cloth.
Step 2
Cut a strip with a length equal to the width of the window x2. At the same time, the height of the strip is at your discretion, but not more than half the height of the window. Fold allowances for all 4 cm sections.
Step 3
Unscrew the allowances for the hem on the wrong side to a width of 2 cm and iron. Then unscrew again. Iron and stitch to the edge.
Step 4
Make 5 bows from a decorative ribbon and sew them on a frill curtain.
Step 5
Fix the rings with clamps evenly over the entire length of the curtain.

Step 2
Neaten all sections. Grind all parts as shown in the diagram (allowance width 1 cm). All numerical data in the diagram are given in cm. The letters indicate towels with a certain size of the cage.
Step 3
Having connected all the details of the panel, perform a 1 cm wide hem along the perimeter. From the rags of fabrics, cut 5 loops of size. 5 x 22 cm.
Step 4
Neaten sections. Iron the longitudinal sections to the wrong side to a width of 1 cm and sew on the edge. Fold the loops across in half and, taking the open ends together, grind the curtains under the upper edge of the curtain at regular intervals.

Step 1: Pattern

Cut out the curtain part. Tighten the hem allowance twice on the wrong side on all 4 sides, pin and iron. Sew hem to the edge.

How to make bow folds
Step 4: Decor
To embroider the whole folds, cross-stitch on the folds, as shown in the photo of the model, while piercing only the top layer of fabric. For brushes, take a piece of cardboard with a length of approx. 10 cm and tightly wrap thread for embroidery on it. Then fix the bundle of threads at one end with the help of threads, tie the ends of the threads with a knot. Remove the cardboard, cut the bunch of threads at the bottom. Form the head of the brush by twisting it with threads, tie the ends of the threads with a knot. If necessary, trim the lower edge of the brushes. Sew brushes to the curtain over the folds.
Tulle curtains with transparent appliques
Light and transparent, curtains fluttering in the wind - a great solution for the summer veranda, bedroom and even the kitchen! They can be decorated with hand-painted floral applications.
You will need:
● Tulle for curtains or finished tulle curtains
● Organza for applications
● Suitable thread for sewing
● Pins
● Threads for basting
● Small embroidery scissors
● Marker with fading paint
● Textile paints
Step 1
Draw or print a motif for the applique. Increase it to the desired size. Cut out the template and lay it under the organza. Translate the contours and interior lines onto the fabric with a water-soluble or disappearing marker. The required number of motif appliques is cut exactly along the contour.
Step 2
Patch the applications on the fabric, sweep along the contour, stitch along the contour with a narrow zigzag. With scissors for embroidery, carefully cut the curtain fabric from under the appliqué. Remove basting.
Step 3
The lines marked on the organza with a marker can be emphasized with "Touch" textile paints or any other - this will add volume to the flower. Allow textile paint to dry well.
As you can see, almost any curtains can be sewn for the kitchen. So that they are not completely boring, you can decorate them with various decorative elements: edging, borders, cord, lace braid, perform decorative stitching.
