What do we have in a flower, polka dots, with mini pompons lying under the door and keep the cold out of the house? This is a miraculous roller made of scraps ... in just an hour and a half!
A miracle roller, long as a snake, will take care of this. To stitch it, simply stitch different shreds into a long "sausage" and stuff it with cotton. Best cotton, then the roller will be heavier than stuffed with synthetics. Or increase its weight by adding some dry beans or rice to the synthetic packing.
YOU WILL NEED:
- shreds at least 38 cm long
- braid with pompons approx. 90 cm
- velvet or rep tape approx. 130 cm
- cotton wool for stuffing
STEP 1 Cut the shreds of different widths, but all 38 cm long. Make them your own harmonious pattern. Start at one end. Chip and sew the first two strips to the width of the presser foot of the machine face to face. Iron allowances.
STEP 2 Continue to grind shreds and iron the seams every time. To add a braid with pompons, put it between two layers of fabric and grab it when sewing. The finished piece of shreds should be approximately 85 cm long. Of course, you can sew the roller longer or shorter, depending on the width of your door. Accordingly, grind more or less shreds.
STEP 3 Stitch rep or velvet ribbon at the seams, if desired, after pricking it with pins. Align the ends of the roller, fold the part along the long sides face to face. Chop and grind the three sides of the roller to the width of the presser foot of the machine; on the long side, leave a twist hole of approx. 15 cm. Cut corners, turn out the roller and iron.
STEP 4 Fill the roller with cotton, while filling its corners tightly. Using small stitches, sew the hole in the seam manually.
EXTRA-TIP Instead of lace with pompoms, you can insert lace, silk ribbon or other decoration to the style of your interior.
